Maurene has been our friend for more than 39 years. From the time she sold us our home, she entrenched herself in our family life. And as our neighbor she became our street matriarch, always offering her time and help for all neighbors in times of need. The neighborhood gatherings are among our fondest memories. We loved Maurene. She wss a very special, unique lady. Thank you, Lord, for sending her into our lives.
We have know and loved our neighbor, Maurene, since July of 1995, when we moved to our home. She was a continuous source of enjoyment. I had the pleasure of traveling with her locally to learn about local DFW historical sites. We shared meals at her home or at restaurants. We (Maria and Maurene) ran errands together. I asked her once why she often drove so fast.She replied, " At my age, time can't be wasted." That was one of her many MAURENE-ISMS. She was someone that enjoyed life and people. We regret her passing and acknowledge that she made a ripple in time, affecting the hearts of all who knew her. We will miss her greatly. With Deepest Sympathy, Major General James L. I have loved Maurene since we were both students at S.M.U in 1944 and I was in the Navy. Sixty-five years is a long time and we have been in touch ever since even though I have lived in various cities in the U.S. I celebrated my 88th birthday June 28. God! How I will miss her!
