Naomi Little's Obituary
Naomi Little, having fulfilled God’s purpose for her earthly life, was called to her forever home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 22, 2020. Naomi was born on March 13, 1937 in Omaha, Texas and grew up in Daingerfield, Texas. She loved the Lord, spending time with her family, her church family, her neighbors and friends, and her precious little pups, Roxie and Rusty.
Naomi was a beautiful lady, wonderful mother, wife, neighbor, and friend. She was warm, friendly, and a go-getter with a larger than life personality. Her bright light will be greatly missed. Naomi was a longtime member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Mesquite, Texas. She was employed for 27 years with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Texas where she was a Provider Relations Representative responsible for managing the business relationship with several Texas hospitals. She was very blessed and fortunate enough to retire at 56 and truly enjoyed the second half of her life.
Naomi faced several health challenges over the past several years which she was able to overcome with God’s healing grace, excellent medical care, and the love, help, and support of her family. Her strength and peace was centered in her faith in God.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Winston Fletcher and Dixie Aleene Fletcher of Daingerfield, Texas; and sisters, Lorena Walker, of Bossier City, Louisiana; and Freda Fletcher of Huntsville, Texas. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 30 years, Walter Stanley Little, of Mesquite, Texas; daughter, Nita Beth Sanders and husband, Rick, of Dallas Texas; son, Mark Weathersby, of Mesquite, Texas; sister, Shirley Marabito, and husband, Ron, of Richardson, Texas; nephew Charles Walker and his wife, Vergie, of Shreveport, Louisiana; nephew Chad Campbell of Dallas, Texas; and niece Susan Collum and her husband, Mike, of South Jordan, Utah along with four great nephews, Bradley Walker of Bentonville, Arkansas; David Walker of Shreveport, Louisiana; Jack Collum of South Jordan, Utah; and William Collum of South Jordan, Utah. Also left to cherish her memory are stepson, Steve Little and wife, Rhonda, of Justin, Texas; stepdaughter Karen Nelson of North Platte, Nebraska; stepdaughter Sue Simmerman and husband, Mark, of Rio Vista, Texas; and stepson Mike Little and wife, Debbie, of Gilmer, Texas along with numerous step-grandchildren, great-step-grandchildren, and great-great-step-grandchildren.
Gifts in memory of Naomi may be made to St. Marks United Methodist Church, 3117 Motley Drive, Mesquite, Texas 75150. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021, at 2:30 P.M. in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243. A graveside service will follow and interment will be at Restland Memorial Park.
