Natalie Glenn Blackmon's Obituary
Blackmon, Natalie Glenn Taylor ~ Was unexpectedly called into the arms of God on Friday, April 15, 2011. Natalie was born January 7, 1928, in Sherman, TX, to Annie Sue Glenn and Durward Jack Taylor, Sr. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1944 at the age of 16, attended Texas State Teachers College in Denton for two years, and then moved to Dallas where she lived the remainder of her life. Natalie worked for over 30 years at RYA (Robert Young Associates) as an Executive Assistant. Her colleagues showed their appreciation for her hard work and dedication by giving her a 30th anniversary party. RYA gave her a wonderful cruise to Alaska, which she enjoyed tremendously. In the years after her retirement in 2000, Natalie enjoyed going to estate sales, watching television, collecting musical globes and music boxes, and tending to her garden of flowers, green beans, and tomatoes. She especially loved doting on her poodles, Rocky and Rascal, and before them, her poodle Rusty. Natalie was preceded in death by her loving parents and her brother, Durward Jack Taylor, Jr. with whom she is reunited in Heaven. She is survived by her two children, daughter Patricia Diane Blackmon of Garland and son Jeffrey Allan Blackmon and wife Rosanne also of Garland. She enjoyed the company of her grandchildren Christopher Michael Blackmon, Stefanie Diane Blackmon and Amanda Natalie Yatchak. Natalie is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Jack (Linda) Taylor of Seguin, Texas, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2011, in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
