Nedra Carolyn Ince's Obituary
Nedra Ince, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was born on December 30, 1931, in Mounds, Illinois. She lived her teen years in Parsons, Kansas where she graduated from Parsons High School where she was homecoming queen and performed in school musicals showcasing her beautiful operatic voice. She continued her singing talent throughout her college years, at church, and at home for her family.
She met the love of her life, Jim Ince, in Parsons. It was love at first sight when he saw her walking down the street. That climactic moment led to nearly 60 years of marriage filled with love and blessings. Those blessings included their three sons Jim, Tom, and Jon, their two daughters, Tammy and Jeanne, daughters- in-law Gloria and Cindy, son-in-laws Bob and Gregg and their grandchildren Daniel, Thomas, Rachel, Jessica, Ryan, Krystal, Landon, Hayley, Kylee, Spencer, Zane, and Natalie and their great-grandchildren Jake, Cale, Charlie, Hunter, Kinley, Madeleine, Caroline, Graham, Norah, Heidi, Rainy, Gracie, Emory, Drayton, Emma James, Anderson, Warren, Ellison, Isla Rose, and Luke.
Nedra was happiest around her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren where she perfected the art of homemade desserts and family recipes. She experienced joy and love from her many beloved dogs throughout her lifetime, especially, her most recent dog, Maddie, who never left her side. She was a lifelong member of St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church in Richardson, TX since 1962 where she continued to belt out hymns from the back row. Later in life, Jim and Nedra traveled the country from New York to Alaska in their RV making a lot of friends along the way. She will always be remembered for her love of collecting Tea Leaf China, porcelain dolls, Hallmark collectibles, State Fair Cookbooks, and antique furniture.
Nedra was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Ince, and her parents, Claude Fleming and Thelma Barnett, and her brother, Bob Fleming, and his wife, Cleo. She is survived by her children, Jim and Gloria Ince of Plano, TX, Tammy and Bob Bos of Dallas, TX, Tom and Cindy Ince of Hemphill, TX, Jeanne and Gregg Gurwitz of New Braunfels, TX, and Jon Ince of Allen, TX, and her 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Mary Fisher.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at Avalon Memory Care, Alice Brown, and Marie Davis for their loving care and assistance.
