I will miss you Neil. You were such a friend to me and you had a smile and encouraging word when I hurt. You were a gracious and kind man and you leave a model of how to live in life and in death. Thanks.
I did my student teaching with Neil at NGHS in the spring of 1985. I learned a lot did my brief time with him.
I was very much saddened to hear of Neil's passing. I saw him at Kroger just a couple of months ago. We stopped and talked for a while and he was very enthused to hear about what my sister (Nancy Kay Q. Class of '83, clarinet/flag corps) and I are up to these days. It was the same enthusiasm I remember from being in his band program. I will always cherish all the memories of those times – now long ago! Kevin C. Quattlebaum, trombone Class of '79
Neil was always willing to take chances with his band program. One of the first in Texas to do Drum Corps material, playing sophisticated music with his concert bands. He also took a chance on me as a young band director, and was very supportive. – Larry
My heart was so sad about your loss. I was truly blessed to have Mr. Chamberlain as my band director. I have laughed throughout the years of the stunts the North Garland Band played on him. He was such a kind hearted man and will be truly missed.
Thoughts and prayers are sent. He helped direct many lives thru the years, more than he ever knew! Peace and love to the family
Mrs.Chamberlain, Margo and Marcy, My absolute happiest high school memories are all associated with being in Mr. Chamberlain's band. Little did I know that lifelong friends, the foundation for my career, and even the meeting of my future spouse were all being established with Mr. C as our leader! I remember how his eyes would twinkle when he was really tickled or excited! I have too many good memories to list~ just know I am so very sorry for your loss and pray God blesses you with comfort and love. In sympathy, Diane Kayser Herrmann Class of '77
I am truly sorry for your loss. Many of my best memories from high school come from my time in band with Mr. C.
I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Mr. Chamberlain calling me Motor Mouth one year at North during Band Camp & it stuck the remainder of my days. He will be missed. My thoughts & prayers are with the family.
