Nellie Ruth Lamb's Obituary
Beautiful wife and mother Nellie Ruth Lamb passed away peacefully on November 11, 2020, in Ennis,Texas, surrounded with love.
Born July 31, 1948, in Scurry, Texas, she was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Clarence;siblings A.D., Joyce, Pete, Bobby, Shirley, and Diane; first husband Clyde; stepdaughter Lisa; stepgrandson Jamie; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who she loved with all her heart.
Nellie is survived by her husband Emmitt; son Brian; siblings Cathy and Dean; stepchildren Sheila and James; large extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews; and a blended family that includes four generations of grand-, great-, and great-great grandchildren, including Aidan, Savannah, Lucas, and Hayden.
At Scurry-Rosser High School, Nellie loved playing basketball and was a dedicated student. After graduation, she started work at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas where she enjoyed a 30+ year career.
She met and married the first great love of her life, Clyde, soon after and had their only child, Brian, a few years later. When Clyde passed unexpectedly in 1989, she was devastated.
A dear aunt eventually introduced her to the man who became the second great love of her life, Emmitt. They would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in February 2021.
A graveside service will be held on November 17, 2020, at 2:00PM at Restland Funeral Home and
Cemetery in the Garden of Ascension. Masks and social distancing are mandatory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
