Nellie Ruth Parker's Obituary
Parker, Nellie was born on August 16, 1926 in Pensacola, Florida and passed away on October 17, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Parker; parents, John Henry and Mary Etta Luker; daughters, Mary Kathryn Parker and Jamie Ruth Rodriguez; sister, Hazel Ethridge and brother, Glen Luker. Ruth is survived by her son, James “Buddy” Parker, Jr. and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Sara Kinser, Lori Kinser, James “Trey” Parker III, Chad Parker and Amanda Valdez; 11 great grandchildren and brothers, J.N. Luker and RD Luker. Ruth was a longtime member of Highland Oaks Church of Christ. She lived her life fully devoted to her Lord and family. She was a lady in every sense of the word and treasured her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Ruth will be greatly missed. Ruth’s sweet spirit, gentle nature and kind smile will be remembered forever. The family would like to thank all her loving devoted friends at Christian Care Center and to all the care givers at the Abbey House for their loving care in her final days. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Restland Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christian Care Center, 900 Wiggins Parkway Mesquite, Texas 75150.
