With a saddened heart, the family of Nelson Astruwalt Barrera, Jr. announce his passing on the morning of February 20, 2018 at the age of 28. We will fondly remember his loving heart, beautiful smile, great sense of humor, and contagious laugh. He will forever be cherished in our hearts. We pray that God wraps his loving arms around Nellie and his entire family.Nelson was born on August 1, 1989 in Long Island, New York. He resided in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Sachse High School in 2007. He is survived by his wife Olivia Barrera; his son Nelson Astruwalt Barrera III and his daughter Marley Joan Barrera; his loving parents Tina Sanchez and Nelson Astruwalt Barrera Sr.; his siblings Daniel Barrera, Manuel Barrera and April Trank; his paternal grandparents Delmy Sanchez, Ivan Sanchez and Manuel Barrera; his maternal grandparents Feliz Sanchez, Linda Sanchez and Halima Rios. He is also survived by his three nieces, whom he adored.Visitation will be Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 6-8 PM in Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 2 PM in the Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
