Neoma Lorene McCann “Granny”, 100, of Richardson, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Saturday, September 11, 2021. Neoma was born August 17, 1921, in Gaylord, Texas. She married Francis Arnold McCann “Mac” on August 5, 1938.
Neoma is survived by her children, Donna Jean Morris and husband, Jack and Penny Smith; and grandchildren, Tammy McCann Scott, Michael Morris and wife, Teri and Sammie Carpenter and husband, Steve and Brent Smith and wife, Brynn; great grandchildren, Micah Morris and wife, Catie and Lacey Morris, Nicole Morris, Zachary Morris, Connor Carpenter and wife, Madeline and Caleb Carpenter, and Trevor Smith, Alexa Smith, Aiden Smith and Tyler Warner; and sister, Neta Collamore. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry William McNulty and Alice Pearl Capps McNulty, husband, Francis Arnold McCann, son, Jimmy McCann, grandson, Patrick McCann, son-in-law, Mike Smith, sisters, Nola Hudson, Nora McDonald, Nota McCulley, Norma Harris, brothers Harry William McNulty Jr. and Raymond McNulty.
While she was busy raising three children, she was also active in her local church, West 10th Street Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She was the Women’s Missionary Union President, teacher for the Royal Ambassadors, and in charge of organizing vacation bible school each summer along with many other roles. She was also active in her community coordinating many community projects. After growing up and living in Oklahoma City, Neoma and “Mac” moved to Texas in 1964 where she began to work for Restland. Over her 25-year career with Restland she was named the top salesperson numerous times. She retired from Restland in 1986 so she could have more time with her family. Neoma and Mac wanted a fun and special place where all their family, from both Oklahoma and Texas, could gather. In 1972 they invested in some land at Lake Texoma and started building what would become the dearly beloved “cabin.” Granny loved spending time at the lake with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many of her grandchildren’s friends also became one of her own as they spent time up at the lake house. Granny always welcomed everyone. This is where many, many, many memories have been made and her and granddad’s legacy lives on.
