Nettie Tippy Weber's Obituary
Weber, Nettie W. (Tippy), wife of Dr. Jaroy Weber, was called home to heaven on September 10, 2012. She was born in Monroeville, AL on June 21, 1919. Tippy served in ministry along side her husband for over 40 years including, North Orange Baptist Church of Orange, TX; First Baptist Church of West Monroe, La; First Baptist Church of Beaumont, TX; Dauphin Way Baptist Church of Mobile, AL; First Baptist Church of Lubbock, TX. ; as well as her responsibilities as wife of the president of the Southern Baptist Convention. She felt that her calling as a pastor’s wife was as strong as Jaroy’s calling to pastor, and lived her life to fulfill that call. She was one of the first women to have her own TV program “The Story Lady” in West Monroe, LA. in the 50’s. Tippy also served as wedding director at Prestonwood Baptist for a number of years. Wherever there was church service to be done, Tippy was there. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jaroy Weber; sons, Jaroy Weber Jr., and John William Weber; parents and siblings. Surviving her is daughter, Nettie E. Weber; grandchildren, Suzanne Wynn and husband, Doug and children Corbin, Creed and Arden; Kathyryn Dentry, and children, Kassiti and Brian; Truett Weber and children Noah and Jett; Jeannie Weber-Castaneda and children, Brianna and Alesandra; Daughters in law, Robin Weber Ricks and Lisa Weber. Sisters in law, Dorothy Castle, and Nancy Wiggins; nephews and nieces, Randy Wiggins, Ron Wiggins, Ricky Wiggins, Rob Wiggins, Kim Wiggins Panebianco, Samantha Denburg, Cathrine Grant, Denise Amat, Mike Cassel and Ron Cassel. We will miss her, but celebrate her reunion and homecoming! We will see you again Tippy! Her life will be honored in Dallas, TX. The graveside service will be Monday September 17, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park. The celebration service will be Tuesday September 18, 2012 1:00 PM at Prestonwood Baptist Church. A time of greeting will be held immediately following the service. In addition, a memorial service will be held at Dauphin Way Baptist Church in Mobile, AL on a date to be arranged.
