Nicholas John Zotos' Obituary
Zotos – Nick John, of Dallas, passed away on September 2, 2019, after a ten-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease, at the age of 87. The illness took his life but never managed to take away his sly smile or his faith in God. He was born in Odessa, TX on January 9, 1932, the fourth child in a family of Greek immigrants. They relocated to Dallas where he remained a permanent resident for the rest of his life. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended SMU where he earned a Bachelors degree in business. In 1963 he married the love of his life Mary Chotas and started a family firmly rooted in the Greek Orthodox Church through which both a life of faith and a love of Greek culture flourished. For over thirty years he ran his tax accounting firm and also remained proudly active in the navy reserves. He will always be remembered as the life of the party, deploying his lightning wit and ironic humor. Nick was preceded in death by his parents John and Angeliki Zotos, brothers George and Alexander Zotos, and sister Ethel Lucas. He is survived by his beloved wife and caregiver Mary Chotas Zotos, sons Nicholas Zotos and Dr. John Zotos and his wife Raquel, as well as a broad extended family.Trisagion and funeral service will be at 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest road in Dallas, TX on Monday, September 9, 2019. Father Peter Kostakis and Father Mark Pakes will be officiating.
