Nina Patricia McFarlin Hamilton's Obituary
Pat was born in Monrovia, California on January 23, 1925. She attended the local schools, Pasadena Junior College (now Pasadena City College) and UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles. She was employed by The Broadway Department Stores in Los Angeles as a window stylist. She later transferred to the Personnel Training Department where she assembled and presented fashion shows at all the Broadway stores. She was also on the Glamour Magazine Career Girl Council.Pat married her husband, John, in 1948, and they lived in California for ten years before moving to Texas, his home state. They lived in Austin and Waco for a short time before settling in Dallas. She worked at the Safeway Credit Union as a loan officer and volunteered at the Dallas Arboretum and White Rock Center of Hope. She was an active member of the PEO Sisterhood.Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and George McFarlin; her husband, John Marvin Hamilton; son, Jeffrey Lane Hamilton; and sister, Naniva Felberg. She is survived by her daughter, Dian, and husband Alan Williams, grandson, Chris Chambers and wife, Kelly, and children Evelyn, Kyla and Ethan; granddaughter, Jenny and husband Scott Baker, and children Kennedy and Jonathan; daughter-in-law, Sharon Hamilton and granddaughters, Stephanie Hamilton, Melissa and husband Stephan Moody and children, Hendrix and Zepplin; and nieces Pamelyn Spriggs, Debra Oxley, Shauna Portanova, and nephews David and Doug Felberg.A memorial service will be held at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 9999 Ferguson Road, Dallas, on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 2:00 PM.In lieu of flowers, please send your memorial gifts to Mercer Place, 5701 Dexham Rd, Rowlett, Texas 75088 in memory of Patricia Hamilton.
