Nina Claudette Sullivan Kirby's Obituary
Nina Claudette Sullivan Kirby, born near Sanger, Texas-Sunday morning, May 20, 1934 to Claudie Sullivan and Nina Collins. Preceded in death by husband, Dallas Restauranteur, B.J. Kirby. Survived by, two sons, Rev. R. Kelly Johnson and wife Kathy of Kenya, Africa, and Mark K. Johnson and wife Melinda of Granite City, Illinois; one daughter, Leah Ann Johnson Lutts Stevens of Dallas, Texas; one grandson and five granddaughters. Nina graduated Sanger High School and attended what is now the University of North Texas and Richland College. She was a Member of First Baptist Church of Dallas. "Missions Minded" Sunday School Department, served on the Welcome Center Team, active with Women's Bible Study and the Widows Fellowship. She served four terms as President of Dallas Restaurant Association Women's Auxiliary. A member of Lakewood Country club, and was active in the Women's Golf Association. As members of the SMU Mustang Club for many years, she and B.J. supported the Lady Mustang Golf Team. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or personal charity.
