Ninfa Mendoza's Obituary
Ninfa Lopez Mendoza, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, after a brief illness. Ninfa’s life will be celebrated in a private memorial service on Saturday, May 18, 2013 beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Restland Abbey Chapel located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75382. Ninfa was born in Waco, Texas to the late Jose G. Lopez and Josefina Lopez and resided in Carrollton, Texas. Ninfa held many distinguished titles during her lifetime ranging from daughter to wife to restaurant partner, but the most beloved was that of Mother and Grandmother. Ninfa relished in raising her children and enjoyed every moment spent with each of her six grandchildren. Filled with compassion and interest in others, it was Ninfa’s inherent nature to reach out to people making lifelong friends along the way. Throughout her life, Ninfa maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. A woman of great faith and generosity, Ninfa donated her time to various volunteer projects and contributed to children’s programs, as well as non-profit organizations, throughout her life. Her signature gift of constant nurturing, love, faith and laughter will never be forgotten. Ninfa was preceded in death by Andrew Mendoza; sons: Carlos Mendoza, David Mendoza and Roy Mendoza; parents, Jose G. Lopez, Josefina Lopez and Lucia Lopez. Ninfa is survived by her children: sons, Armando Mendoza and wife, Sandy; Andrew Mendoza, Jr. and wife, Rebecca; daughters, Elizabeth Rogers and husband, Michael; Beatrice Silva and husband, James; Connie Garza and husband Larry; daughter-in-law, Irma Mendoza; her beloved grandchildren: Jeremiah Mendoza, Carrie Mendoza, Daniel Mendoza, Lauren Silva, Matthew Silva and Briana Mendoza; her beloved extended family: Andrew Mendoza III, Robert Mendoza, Gilbert Mendoza, D’Lee Garza and Brad Garza; and her siblings: sister, Ernestine Carbajal; brothers, Joe Lopez and Nick Lopez. Ninfa was fondly remembered in Carrollton, Abilene, Lubbock, Plainview, Waco and Oklahoma City for her example of love, faith and kindness.
