Nira Jean Murphy's Obituary
Nira Jean Weaver Murphy went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 26th, 2021.
Nira Jean was born on August 24,1930 to the late Jack and Oma Weaver of Garland, Texas. After graduating Garland High School, she attended and graduated from TCU in Fort Worth, earning a degree in Psychology. On February 7th, 1953, she married the love of her life, Dr. Charles H. Murphy. They had two children, Mike and Sally and over the next 39 years continued to build their life together in Garland. While Charles practiced dentistry, Nira created the most wonderful home for her family. All agree it was a home filled with love, warmth and graciousness where Christian values were lived, not only taught. While Nira owned and operated family real estate properties for over 40 years, the role she most loved was that of wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Nira was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Oma Weaver, her husband Dr. Charles H. Murphy and her brother Ronny Weaver.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Charles Michael Murphy and wife, Dr. Dorothy Leong; her daughter Sally Mangum and husband Harold; her granddaughters Natalie Mangum and Sarah Overstreet and husband Bryce; and her great-grandchildren Meagan Ashley Tastle, and Steele and Suttyn Overstreet.
She was a woman of beauty, grace and the center of our family. She will be forever missed.
A private graveside service will be held at Restland Memorial Park at noon on Wednesday, March 31st, 2021.
