Nita Edwina Schattle's Obituary
SCHATTLE, NITA EDWINA (BLAIR), passed away on January 2, 2021 in Richardson, TX at the age of 89. Known to her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “MaMaw,” she was born on May 2, 1931 in Amherst, TX to Arvil Ardelle Blair and Nita Jewel Willis. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter Schattle, five sisters and three brothers, as well as two sons in law, Dennis Lemons and Shawn Wellott, along with one grandchild, Mason Schattle.
Nita is survived by children, Monica Peelman, Paul Schattle, Steve Schattle, Kathy Wellott, Tracy Woolverton, Phil Schattle, Chris Schattle, Jeff Schattle, and Tony Schattle, their spouses, 34 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren all of the DFW area. She is also survived by one sister, Norma Spilman of Albuquerque, NM and three brothers, Willis Blair of Sudan, TX, Jimmy Blair of Brooklyn Park, MN, and Johnie Blair of Lubbock, TX, plus a large extended family. Nita, who endeared herself to those she met, will be dearly missed by all.
Visitation will be from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at All Saints Catholic Church 5231 Meadow Creek Dr. Dallas, TX 75248. Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at All Saints Catholic Church. Private interment will be held later at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wreaths Across America or the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.
