Nita Corine Winters' Obituary
Nita Corine Winters, who celebrated 96 years on this Earth, passed away on June 19, 2020 in Dallas, Texas from natural causes.
Nita was born on August 22, 1923 in Canton, Texas to the parentage of Chester and Vinnie Lee Corey. She married Vernon Winters in June of 1946 and together they owned "Winters Here" Electrical Contractors.
Nita lived a full and active life. She was proud of being a part of winning the State Basketball Championship @ Byrd High School in 1940. She loved to dance and after a few years of being a widow, she met Ted Berger who was her dance partner for 11 years before he passed away. She was a resident of her neighborhood for 56 years and thankful for caring and thoughtful neighbors that checked in on her.
Nita was the oldest child of Chester and Vinnie Corey and was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Winters, her grandson, Kerry Don McDaniel and her great-grandsons, Kerry McDaniel II and Joseph McDaniel as well as 4 nephews.
Nita is survived by her daughter, Lynda McDaniel Bellew; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 6 nieces and 4 nephews.
