Norine Agnes Slyngard's Obituary
SLYNGARD, NORINE was born on December 17, 1936 to Frederick Slyngard and Helena Elias in Paramaribo, Suriname. Norine received her formal education at Wilfred Academy in Boston, Massachusetts where she excelled in her studies in Cosmetology. Norine accepted Christ as her Savior with Rapha Life Center Church of Denton, Texas, where she worshiped as a faithful member who truly loved the Lord. Norine was employed as a cosmetologist, home health care worker, and in the hotel industry for over 30 years where she served others dutifully in Massachusetts and Texas before she retired in 2002. In her leisure, she enjoyed sewing, cooking and dancing. Ms. Norine Slyngard enjoyed helping others and spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and lifelong friends. Norine Slyngard was truly blessed. She was born on December 17, 1936 and departed this life on November 8, 2012. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Frederick Slyngard, mother, Helena Elias, and beloved sister, Amy Slyngard. She leaves to cherish her memories three children, Jimmy Landburg (Janice), Lloyd Landburg (Dana), and Angela McClain (Slyngard); four sisters, Astrid Naarden, Yvette Slyngard, Joni Slyngard, and Meriella Slyngard; four brothers, Clifton Slyngard, Edie Elias, Steven Slyngard, and Andy Slyngard; eight grandchildren, Jimmy Jr., Jalani, Jordi, Quess, Jordan, Patrick (Deuce), Jonathan, and Kayla; one step-grandchild, Caitlyn ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Restland Abbey Chapel on Saturday, November 17, 2012.
