I can picture Norma being among the first to arrive at the Red Cross office following more than one sudden disaster, and always with a “What can I do?” Our condolences to all those close to Norma.
Like Norma, my passion was Family Services. I had only been volunteering in the DSHR for a few years when I met Norma on my first day of my "real job" in Dallas. She was sitting outside with Rosemary Mote. We introduced ourselves, and from that day forward I knew that if I had any questions, Norma was available to me. As far as Family Services went, she had forgotten more than I knew. And that would continue for the remainder of my career. As far as being the most genuine, direct, and present person - that was Norma. She will be sorely missed.
