Norma Jean Hirmon's Obituary
Norma Jean Hirmon went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 20, 2015, at her home in McKinney, Texas. Norma was born on January 13, 1929, in Amarillo, Texas, the daughter of Wilbert Zarecor and Mary Gathright Zarecor. She was united in marriage to Wesley David Hirmon on April 9, 1949, in Dallas, Texas. They were married 45 years until his death in 1994. Norma was a graduate of North Dallas High School and attended Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. Prior to becoming a mother and homemaker, she was employed by Procter and Gamble. Norma joined David at his business, Tobacco Sales Company, later North Central Distributors, as Secretary-Treasurer and Bookkeeper in 1978. A savvy, intelligent, business woman, Norma was an asset to the company which flourished until it’s sale in 2006. In 1988, she received the First Lady Award, which recognized her contributions to the industry. Norma loved her family and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She always made Christmas and family gatherings fun and memorable. In addition to time spent with those she loved, she enjoyed entertaining, traveling, gardening, decorating, and playing bridge. In 2001, Norma moved to Heritage Ranch in Fairview, Texas where she was an active member of the Westin Bridge group. Norma is preceded in death by her father, Wilbert Zarecor; step-father, Rubert Henderson; twin infant daughters; sister, Virginia Ratliff; husband, W. David Hirmon; and mother, Mary Henderson. She is survived by her daughter, Holly Hirmon Bullard and husband, Joe; sons, David Hirmon and wife, Janice; and Jack Hirmon and wife, Gina; grandchildren, Audra Bullard Perkins and husband, Caleb, Taylor Bullard, Caroline Bullard, Jennifer Hirmon, and Wesley Hirmon. In addition, Norma leaves behind many beloved relatives and friends. The visitation for Norma Hirmon will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Norma will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 12:30 PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
