Norma Jean Mitchell's Obituary
Norma Mitchell, age 91, died peacefully in her home in Plano, Texas on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Norma would be the only child born August 8, 1930 in Dallas, Texas to Robert DuBois and Goldie (Simons) DuBois.
Norma graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Tx in 1949.
Norma married Tom (Buddy) Bennett in 1949 and they had 3 children together. She later married Lemmon Mitchell and they had one son together.
She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, her son Dale Mitchell, and her grandson Adam Schroeder.
Norma is survived by daughter Patricia and husband Ted Schroeder, daughter Pamela and husband Steve Teel and by son Robert Bennett who lived with and cared for Norma for many years. Surviving grandchildren are Karen (Schroeder) Davis, Ken Schroeder and wife Sydnie, Carly (Schroeder) and husband Bryan Alexander; Brenna (Teel) and husband Ryan Williamson, Rachel (Teel) and husband Benjamin Neeley, Sara (Teel) and husband Kenny Mannis, Justin Bennett and wife Amanda, Kyle Bennett and wife Tiffany, Kevin Bennett and wife Stephanie and Andrew Mitchell. Surviving great grandchildren are Seth Schroeder, Sephie Schroeder, Cole Davis, Brady Davis, Katie Alexander, Rosie Alexander, Annabel Williamson, Layla Williamson, Claira Neeley, Macy Neeley, Nolan Neeley, Dawson Mannis, Kole Bennett, Charlie Bennett, Eric Bennett.
Once graduating from Secretarial school, Norma became an administrative assistant at the satellite office of the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. in Dallas, Texas. She left Wrigley for a short time to try her talents as a realtor with Clements Realtors. She also worked for Pitney Bowes a short time but later returned to the Wrigley Jr. Co. She worked for Wrigley for a combined total 34 years and 9 months. She formed many close friends while working for Wrigley. Ruth Dodson (deceased) in the early years. She remained in contact with Shirley Bjurstrom and Marie Swinney up until her death along with her boss Henry Gray.
Family will begin to welcome family and friends on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 1:00 pm visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home in the Wildwood Chapel. Funeral Services to follow at 2:00 pm. Restland Funeral Home is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243
