Norma Choate Mobley's Obituary
Norma Choate Mobley was born October 26, 1926, and passed into Heaven on August 24, 2017, at the age of 90. She joins her beloved husband Mike (2005) and son Stephen (1957).Norma attended Forest Avenue High School in Dallas and was involved with the alumni group until they disbanded in 2016. She and her husband Mike lived in Shreveport and Ft. Smith before ultimately returning to Dallas to raise their family. Mike spent his entire career at JCPenney with Norma by his side. Loving mother of Paul (wife April), and Janet Bracken (husband Frank), and adored Nana of Caleb (wife Lydia) and Josh.She is survived by her brother, Richard Choate of Dallas and her sister-in-law Betty Lyle of Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Father and brother, Robert. Also her sisters-in-law Mary and Tress Choate. She will be remembered with great fondness by numerous special nieces and nephews. Norma and Aunt Betty (95) served as the Matriarchs of the Mobley clan at reunions and would share stories about growing up in Dallas and Mississippi respectively. Norma enjoyed serving her family, church, and community with activities including cookie-baking, PTA member, chaperoning school events; J.C. Penny retirement club; Turf Turner gardening club. Her presence will be missed from the First Baptist Church of Plano and their Traditions Bible Study group.Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Faith Presbyterian Hospice for their wonderful care and the staff and her friends at The Tradition who over the past year became family.Services will be held Tuesday, August 29th at 10:00 a.m. at RESTLAND FUNERAL HOME 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX in the Main Chapel with a short graveside ceremony.“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
