Norma Marie Neely's Obituary
Norma Marie Neely, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 14th, 2024, in Rowlett, Texas. She was 75 years old.
Born on July 1st, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, Norma was the daughter of Charles and Rita Katherine Staton. She grew up surrounded by love and laughter, cherishing family gatherings and creating lasting memories.
On November 16th, 1967, Norma married the love of her life, Joseph John Neely, in a beautiful ceremony in California. Their union was marked by unwavering devotion, shared dreams, and countless moments of joy.
Norma was a woman of faith, finding solace and inspiration in her church community. She had a deep love for nature and spent many hours birdwatching, marveling at the beauty of God’s creation. Norma’s warm smile and kind heart touched everyone she met, leaving a lasting impression on friends and neighbors.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Whether it was playing board games, sharing stories around the dinner table, or watching her grandchildren grow, Norma cherished these moments. Her legacy lives on through the love she shared and the values she instilled in her family.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Rita Staton, her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, John Neely, and her brother-in-law, James E. Bever.
Norma Marie Neely leaves behind her son, John Thompson, stepdaughter, Lisa Ann Knight (Leonard Knight), sisters; Audrey L. Bever and Donna Ardella Shirley, grandchildren; Melissa Ann Tambourine (Adam Tambourine), and Jason Neil Knight (Rebekah Knight), great-grandchildren; Tyler Tambourine, and Caden Tambourine, nieces; Deanna L. Elders, and Misty Robbins, nephew, William Robbins, great-nieces; Brittney N. Head, and Emma C. Elders, and great-nephews; JohnAustin E. Elders, and Ryan M. Head.
A visitation is being held on Wednesday, August 21st, 2024, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Restland Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 22nd, 2024, at 1:00pm at Cornerstone Baptist Church located at 2829 Clay Mathis Rd. Mesquite, TX 75181.
