Norma Ruth Overman's Obituary
Norma Ruth Haberley Overman, age 96, born in Bloomington, Indiana, to Frederick and Adra Haberley, passed away on January 7th, 2022, with her beloved husband Jim by her side and holding her hand. She married James (“Jim”) Overman in 1947, and when asked what their secret was for such a long marriage, either were jokingly known to reply that they had made a pact - whichever one of them wanted to walk away from the marriage, they had to take all four of their children with them. Norma was preceded in death by both of her parents, and her younger brother, Richard (“Dick”) Haberley. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim; their daughters Janet Overman, JoAnn Epperson (husband Gerald), Connie Griggs, and Laura Contostavlos (husband Pete); her granddaughter Melissa Hadley; her great grandchildren Nicholas Hadley (wife Jordon, son Maverick, daughter Delta) and Rosalyn Hadley; and her younger sister, Sharon Smith (husband Bill). The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, at the Wildwood Chapel, with the viewing to be directly before at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that a donation be made in Norma’s honor to the Tunnel to
