Norma Lee Withrow's Obituary
Norma Lee Withrow, born in McKinney, Texas on July 24, 1935 to Thomas and Mary Faris went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on May 17th, 2024 in Plano, Texas at the age of 88.
After graduating from North Dallas High school, Norma attended Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University and graduated with a Masters of Theology. She became one of the first female ministers of the United Methodist Church in Dallas,Texas and was even featured in The Book of Dallas. Norma pastored marginalized communities, sharing the kindness of Jesus with those she served.
She was friendly to outsiders and always brought warmth and engagement to people she met, curious to learn more about them, making them feel connected and seen. Norma had a passion for life. She enjoyed traveling, seeing new places, and having new experiences. She was gifted with a beautiful voice and could often be found singing out loud, sharing her voice and love of music with anyone who would listen.
Norma loved spending time with her family and was excited when they would come to visit. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Norma is preceded in death by her first husband Ralph Meyer, her second husband Jim Withrow, and her sister Jo Anne Whitlock. She is survived by her two children, Sharon Ratcliff and husband Gary, and Cathy Wilson; her grandchildren, Dustin Ratcliff and wife Tara, Ashley Wilson Lopez and husband Sebastian, Amanda Wilson and partner Danielle Earwood, Andrew Ratcliff, Whitney Ratcliff Gray and husband Kenneth, Michael Wilson and wife Kendra Wilson; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services have been rescheduled to June 11th, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Restland Funeral Home Wildwood Chapel, located at the far west end of Restland Memorial Park. A visitation will take place at Wildwood Chapel 1 hour prior to the service.
