I didn't know Mr. Smith but I was upset when I heard the news. Words of prayer instantly began to come from my mouth and thoughts of a family I have never met raced through my mind. Mrs. Smith I can honestly say he did his job and did not leave any gang members heart untouched I want to thank you for saring your husband, with us that needed him and as a positive person in our life. My first encounter with Norman(Big Russia) Smith was one you see on T.V. where you see a person so scared they do walk a straight line in your pressence, thats what you did for me. You scared me straight. From our first run in at the circle seven corner store by Spruce. To you coming to my high school after an off campus altercation to get the scoop and to take my picture for the Gang Files. I never blammed him but thanked him for caring. I will see you when I get there and thanks to you mentoring me about gang violence I am not there.

Norman Stephen Allen Smith was a very good man and i would like to say thank u to him for changing my life. I was able to experience a talk with officer smith and he was the reason my life is changed now.
