Norris Lee Iselt's Obituary
Norris Lee Iselt went home to his Lord and Savior on February 12, 2021. He was born in Thorndale, Texas to Walter and Anna Iselt on Saturday, November 3, 1934. He is survived by his wife of 64 years- Betty, son-Darrell, daughter-Gwen (Kerry), one grandson-Brian (Miranda), one granddaughter-Autumn, and 4 great grandchildren-Madison, Ashton, Audra and Aidan. He is also survived by his sister-Donna Beran (Walter), and 2 brothers-Charles (Clariest) and Leonard (Helen). He was preceded in death by his parents, his youngest brother- Curtis, his first born son-Doug and first born granddaughter-Jennifer.
Norris graduated from Thorndale High School and later went to Dallas Theological Seminary and became an Ordained Minister. During this time he started his own Drywall Finishing business and was self-employed until retirement. He was a strong believer in working hard for what you need.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, something he loved sharing with his two sons, who were also his right hand men in his drywall business. He was very successful at all of his endeavors due to his hard work and fierce dedication to everything he did.
His greatest legacy was his unwavering Faith in Jesus Christ and he continually taught his children about the Bible. He also loved his wife and family with great devotion. He was quiet, kind and generous.
He donated to multiple charities and gave unselfishly. He was a deep thinker, pondering all things. He read his bible countless times over and lived with great conviction and dedication to God.
His absence will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of Faith, love, kindness, meekness, gentleness, and peace will live on in our hearts as a great reminder of a man who was extraordinary. His family has been incredibly blessed by being “his family”.
