Nynva J. Smith's Obituary
Nynva J. Smith, 79, of Lancaster, died Friday, August 6, 1999. She was surrounded by family when she went home to be with her Lord. Mrs. Smith was born December 11, 1919, in Farmersville, TX to Thomas Edward and Edna Ethal Glass Tyner. She grew up in Farmersville and Estelline before moving to Dallas. Nynva married Earl McKinney Smith on March 11, 1939 in Cleburne, TX. They celebrated 35 years of marriage before Kenney passed away on March 13, 1974. She retired as the Mail Registrar from Southwestern Drug Corporation on April 30, 1982 after many years of service before becoming a full time grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenney Smith. She is survived by daughter, Linda Lynette Franks and husband Lonnie of Crandall; son, Earl Wayne “Bud” Smith and wife Joyce of Garland; daughter, Rita Sharon Douglas and husband Dickie of Lancaster; grandchildren, Jill Lynnette Hedgepeth, Christopher Lee Hedgepeth & wife Melissa, Kimberley Lynn Borde and husband Tom, Jeffrey Wayne Smith, Amie Dean Douglas and Kenneth Scott Douglas; great-grandchildren, Joey, Casie and Brianna; sister, Tommie Jean Martin of Dallas; sister-in-law, Lena Livingston of Lancaster; several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Services were held at 2:00pm Monday, August 9, 2009 in the Byrum Funeral Home Chapel, Lancaster, with Denny Burris and Ronnie Lowe officiating. Interment followed in Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
