O. G. "Gene" Jackson's Obituary
Born January 18, 1926, went to be with the Lord December 4, 2008. Gene was born in Hollis, Oklahoma. Times were hard and he and his twin brother were adopted as infants by W.T. & Mattie Jackson of Erick, OK. Sadly, his brother did not survive infancy. Gene joined the Navy in 1944, was honorably discharged, and later decided to join the Air Force in 1947, proudly serving until his retirement in 1966. He was stationed in the South Pacific, Alaska, Guam and Germany. He married Helen Virginia Nolen in 1951 and the couple shared 50 years together until her passing in 2001. After retiring to Dallas the pair were active life-long members of the Church of Christ. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and many devoted members of his church family. Visitation will be 3-5 PM, Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be 12:30 PM, Monday, December 8, 2008 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to Riverside Church of Christ, 150 E. Belt Line Road, Coppell, TX 75019.
