Ocie D. Martin's Obituary
MARTIN, OCIE D. Born May 11, 1925 to Hiram and Lela Martin in Pickton, TX and passed away April 18, 2011 in Dallas, TX. Although a gentle sole by nature, Ocie bravely served his country during WWII and was awarded several decorations and citations to include the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. His dedication to country and duty influenced and encouraged others to follow his example. A truly devoted man of faith, he will be missed not only by his many Christian brothers and sisters at Eastridge Church of Christ in Rockwall but by his surviving brother Arnold, sister Maudine, his many nieces and nephews, seven daughters, two sons, and over thirty grandchildren and great grandchildren – all of which are related by the Martin bloodline or through marriage. Ocie is called brother, daddy, uncle, grand-daddy, and friend. His kindness, generosity, and patience will forever be remembered and cherished. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2011 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside at Restland Memorial Park.
