Officer Earl James "Jamie" Givens III's Obituary
Dallas Police Officer Senior Corporal Earl James “Jamie” Givens III, was killed in the line of duty on July 21, 2018, while providing a motorcycle escort for a funeral procession for a fellow fallen officer. Jamie was assigned to the Traffic Unit Motorcycle Squad where he served with distinction and honor. Jamie is survived by mother, Delores; sister, Lourinda; and sons, Garrett and Greyson. Jamie had a passion and love for riding motorcycles, which he shared with his fellow law enforcement motorcycle officers, his fellow Celtic Warriors, and the motorcycle club that he founded and led for many years. Jamie worked in a variety of assignments in the Dallas Police Department where he served honorably, devoting his life for over 32 years. He worked as a Patrol Officer, a Field Training Officer, a Horse Mounted Officer, SWAT UNIT, and Motorcycle Officer. He was well respected by the public he served. He always had time for children who were drawn to him and his bike at the State Fair. Jamie was a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma, and a member of the Great Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Jamie was a beloved family man, son and leader. He excelled in everything he did in life. His example and impact on our lives will forever be remembered and he lives amongst us in your hearts.The visitation for Jamie will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Prestonwood Baptist Church.The funeral service for Jamie will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Prestonwood Baptist Church.
