Ola Whitaker's Obituary
Ola Gray Whitaker, age 97 of Dallas, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015. She was born to the late Riley L. and Bertie Gray on June 4, 1917 in Atoka, Oklahoma. She was a lifelong Baptist. Family and friends were Ola’s passion and delight. She grew up and attended school in Atoka and Tushka where she met her first husband, Earl Whitaker. They moved to Ft. Worth where their first son, David, was born in 1942. They moved to Dallas, where their second son, Mike, was born in 1945. They were married nearly 50 years until Earl passed away in 1987. Late in life she met and married George Tillotson – both 92 at the time. George passed away soon after. Ola’s career spanned decades working in two industries. First in the Baylor Dental College near downtown Dallas and then in property management, also in Dallas. Ola is survived by her two sons, David Whitaker (Martha) and Mike Whitaker (Joanne). Her sister, Willie Mae Buff of Michigan. Also her seven grandchildren, Jeff, Rachel, Elaine, Eric, Jonathan, Stacy and Annette. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Ola was preceded in death by her sisters: Ophelia, Irene, Juanita, and Darlene. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last illness. Arrangements are provided by Restland Funeral Services (www.RestlandFuneralHome.com), and Rembrandt Florist (www.RembrandtFlorist.com) Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 12:15 PM on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Restland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road.
