Oleta Jenkins' Obituary
JENKINS, OLETA, age 96, of McKinney, TX, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Avalon Home in McKinney. She was born on January 15, 1917 in Lewisville, TX to parents, Benjamin Corry and Mattie Corry. Oleta was married to Hubert Doyle Jenkins in McKinney, TX in 1936. She will be remembered by her 3 sons, Ben Jenkins and wife, Lucinda, of Charlotte, NC; William Jenkins and wife, Linda, of Kingland, TX and Tom Corry and wife Monica, of Rockport, TX; 5 grandchildren, Laura Want, Laird Jenkins, Holly Jenkins, Traci Jenkins, and Brent Jenkins; 10 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Todd, Corby, and Chloe Want; Holt and Hannah Jenkins; Belle Fiebig; Christian and Carissa Ercegovich; and Aiden Jenkins; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Maysn and Bailey Want and Norah Claire Want. Oleta was predeceased in death by her parents; her devoted husband of 72 years, Doyle; brothers Houston, Brummett, Alton, Tom and Frank, as well as a sister, Bessie. Oleta’s had four surviving sisters, Mattie Lou Maloney, Ora Evelyn Appelbee, Dorothy Ben Ronan and Mary Virginia Schuler. Oleta was the 7th of 12 children and graduated in 1935 from Nevada High School in Collin county. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Oleta enjoyed all kinds of needlework and when she wasn’t caring for her loving children and grandchildren, Oleta could usually be found working on a quilt or other craft project. Her family will miss their matriarch and always remember the love she had for them all. Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 28th, 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
