Olga Alvarado Bridwell's Obituary
Olga Alvarado Bridwell, born in Guatemala City on August 4, 1937, to José Luis Alvarado Narváez and Natalia Palomo Rogel Alvarado de Vega, she passed away on December 13, 2025. She is survived by daughters Carolyn Bridwell and Laura Bridwell-Meyeres, son-in-law Kenneth Meyeres, and cherished granddaughters Elena and Christina. Mom was born into a distinguished family who served Guatemala in their roles as a beloved schoolteacher, judge, agronomist, director of the social services agency, and several lawyers. Her grandfather, Herculano Alvarado, was a gifted pianist, composer, and director of the national music conservatory. Raised in this environment, Mom was surrounded by family members who cultivated in her an appreciation for the arts and higher learning. When Mom left Guatemala, she traveled throughout the country then settled in Dallas, in the Lakewood neighborhood she loved. Mom was a world traveler who enjoyed the finer things yet preferred to live simply. She was inspirational and selfless, choosing optimism during difficult times and teaching her daughters to live with dignity, fortitude, and determination. Words cannot fully convey the immense feeling of loss of our beautiful mother. She is irreplaceable and will be very deeply missed. Services honoring her lifelong Catholic faith will be held graveside at 11:00 a.m., December 23, 2025, at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas
