Oliver Holden Dunham Sr.
November 19, 1937 – June 12, 2025
Oliver Holden Dunham Sr. was ushered into Heaven on June 12, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on November 19, 1937, he was the third son of Howard and Mary Helen Dunham. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Howard and Tom.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Marlene; his brother William (Jane); his sons Stephen (Michele), Holden (Genevie), and Wylie (Patti); eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Oliver graduated from Highland Park High School in 1956 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as part of the 14th Cavalry in Fulda, Germany, during the Cold War. Upon his return, he earned a degree from North Texas State University in 1962.
Throughout his diverse career, Oliver worked as an accountant at Collins Radio, ventured into manufacturing and sales with C & D Plastics, became a stockbroker with E.F. Hutton & Co., co-owned Advanced PC Services, and ultimately retired from Home Depot.
A lifelong member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, Oliver faithfully served as an usher and money counter. He was active in the Indian Guides program and coached football for his sons at the Town North Y.
Family life was central to Oliver. The Dunhams shared many happy times boating and camping at Lake Texoma. They made cherished annual trips to the family farm in Illinois, where his sons experienced farm life and visited their grandparents, Carroll and Amy Swanson.
Oliver had a natural gift for working with his hands—whether rewiring circuits, fixing lamp switches, or creating projects in his home workshop. He was a man of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to his family.
He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
