Ollie L. Alexander's Obituary
ALEXANDER, OLLIE L., age 100, of Allen, TX, passed away on Wednesday, 6/19/2013 at Orchard Park Senior Living in McKinney, TX. She was born on 10/12/1912 in Garland, TX to her parents, Herbert and Mary Francis Mcintire. Ollie was an only child. She married Leon Spurgeon Alexander in McKinney, TX on 6/24/1944 and celebrated 57 years of marriage before he passed away in May, 2002. She was a long-time resident of Allen, TX of 38 years where she attended Fountain Park Baptist Church before moving to McKinney. Ollie was a current member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in McKinney, TX and attended the services regularly. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. She never let her age slow her down and participated in her first motorcycle ride on her 100th birthday. Her favorite place to eat was CiCi’s Pizza in Allen, TX. Though she had no children of her own, her 40 years managing church nurseries allowed her to follow her passion of developing young minds. She loved being around children. She is survived by her cousins, a niece, two nephews, and a host of friends that loved her dearly. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Texas Baptist Home for Children, PO Box 309, Waxahachie, TX 75168-9977.
