Onnie Eddielue Moseley's Obituary
MOSELEY, ONNIE EDDIELUE (HUGGHINS) 88, passed away on Wednesday evening, August 31, 2011 at the DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center in DeKalb, Illinois. She was born May 22, 1923 in Rusk, Texas to Alvin and Mary Lee Hugghins. She married Wolford T. Moseley on October 17, 1947. Onnie was a loving, dedicated homemaker, wife, and mother raising her two children with her husband in the Dallas suburb of Farmers Branch, Texas. She was a member of Webb Chapel United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch for 56 years. Onnie was a skilled seamstress, making clothes for her family members and later on, became an accomplished quilt maker. She also was a gifted oil painter and painted many pictures for her and her family’s homes. Onnie was a kind-spirited person, never having a bad word to say about anyone. Soon after her husband’s death in 2004, she relocated to Sycamore, Illinois to be nearer to family. She was a resident of Grand Victorian Assisted Living Center before moving in 2008 to the DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center. She is survived by a daughter, Connie Splann (Sammy) of Nacogdoches, Texas, a son, Randy Moseley (Sandy) of DeKalb, Illinois, three grandchildren, Kyle Splann (Marcie) of Nacogdoches, Texas, Kristi Blankenship (Glenn) of Cullman, Alabama, and Wesley Moseley of Byron, Illinois; six great-grandchildren; a brother Raymond Hugghins of Denison, Texas, and a sister, Helen Taylor of Richardson, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wolford T. Moseley, her parents, sister Lorease Keesee, and brother, Jessie Hugghins. Onnie’s family would like to thank the dedicated employees of the DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center’s Alzheimer’s Unit for their excellent devotion and care during the last years of Onnie’s life. Their skill, patience and friendship will always be remembered and cherished. Service will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 Restland Memorial Chapel, Greenville Avenue at Restland Road, Dallas, Texas, with interment at Restland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00PM, Monday at Restland Funeral Home.
