Opal Grace Gentry's Obituary
GENTRY, OPAL GRACE CASE departed for her Heavenly Home on August 22, 2012. Grace was born to Eddie Case and Opal Koon Case on May 17, 1926, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1944 and entered Ouachita Baptist University, graduating in 1949. While in college, she played tennis, was on the debate team, and a member of EEE. After graduation, she taught school in McCrory, Arkansas where, in 1950, she met and married her soulmate. Shortly after marriage, they became a Navy family. Upon discharge, Grace and her husband moved to Texas where she was employed by Texas Instruments. Grace became a substitute teacher in the Garland, Texas schools. TI moved the family to Austin, TX, and back to Richardson in 1972, where Grace became a Sunday school teacher in the First Baptist Church of Richardson. She will be best remembered as a woman who reflected the Savior she served with every action she made. She was a devoted wife and instrumental in raising her two boys as well as her 7 grandchildren, who she made sure she visited with every week of their lives. Surviving Grace is her husband of 63 years, Robert Dale Gentry; 2 sons, Robert Edward Gentry and wife Julie Ann of Richardson, TX and Eddie Earl Gentry and his wife, Gina Lynn Of plano, TX; 7 grandchildren: Krista Leigh Gentry , Robert Dale Gentry, II, Chad Leland Gentry, William Lucas Gentry, Jessica Lee Durrett and her husband, Austin Luke, Melinda Jeanne Gentry and Jennalee Grace Gentry; 2 great grandchildren: Carter Leland Gentry and Cavan Luke Durrett. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, August 24, 2012 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held, 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 25 at the First Baptist Church of Richardson, with Rev. Mr. Gerald Ware officiating. Interment following immediately at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Richardson, Texas.
