Ora Lee Clayton's Obituary
CLAYTON, ORA LEE passed away, early Tuesday morning, January 14th 2014 at her home in Dallas, TX. Mrs. Clayton was born February 8th 1918 in Dallas, TX to Joseph and Estella Giddings. She was united in marriage to Ezra Clayton on April 8th 1951. They were married for 43 blissful years until his sunset on March 19th 1994. At an early age she accepted Christ, she was an active member of St. Paul AME White Rock, where she served on the board of trustees, council of elders, and as a steward. Mrs. Clayton worked in various areas of administration and eventually retired from the Dallas Independent School District. In her later years, she was an ardent supporter of North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship and attended service when her health allowed. She was also a long term member of Black Dallas Remembered. Mrs. Clayton was a lover of life, where family was her main priority. As much as she loved to dance, travel and shop, she loved her children infinitely more, and always put their needs and desires before her own. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gigi Clayton, and her brothers, Dartrell Giddings, Kenneth Giddings and her sister, Ola Smith. She is survived by her sister, Vella Winn; son, Gary Clayton; daughter-in-law, Darlene Clayton; grandson, Sean Clayton and his wife, Morgan; granddaughter, Nahtalie Kincheloe and her husband, Malik, and 5 great-grandchildren, Jayda Clayton, Cade Clayton, Julian Kincheloe, Jacob Summons and Ariana Kincheloe. A wake will be held from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship in Plano, Texas. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship, in Ora Lee Clayton’s name.
