Ora Lee Claverie Bartolo's Obituary
Ora Lee Claverie Bartolo, 88, passed away peacefully in Plano, Texas on January 23, 2023. She was lovingly cared for by amazing, skilled and compassionate nurses and doctors at Medical City Plano Hospital during her stay there.
Ora Lee was born October 3, 1934 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Lewis and Ora May Claverie. Ora Lee graduated from Gretna High School in 1951. After finishing high school, she worked at Louisiana Power and Light and Continental Can Company. She married John Bartolo, Jr. on July 13, 1957 and lived on Francis Street in Marrero, Louisiana. In 1966, Ora Lee and John moved to Gretna, Louisiana. Ora Lee was very active in the garden club, enjoyed entertaining family and neighbors. While she was raising her children, she became a realtor.
Ora Lee and John raised two sons, Gregg and Stephen. Because of a job transfer of Ora Lee’s husband, John, the family moved to Ft. Smith, Arkansas where she continued her career in real estate. They resided there for several years before moving for a short time to Tulsa, Oklahoma and then setting in the Dallas area. In the Dallas area, Ora Lee worked in property management until retiring at age 83.
Throughout her life Ora Lee enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, and reading. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson, Texas.
Ora Lee was a wonderful, loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and sister and always remained fiercely devoted to her family. She was proceeded in death by her husband, John, and her parents, Lewis and Ora May. She will be greatly missed by those who survive her: her bothers Lewis, Claude, and Roy; her sons Gregg and Stephen; her daughters-in law Charlene and Jeanine; her grandchildren Marea, Jon, Charley, Vincent, Alexander, Charles, and Andrew; her Goddaughter, Donna Toups Schexnayder, as well as other extended family and friends.
