Ora Emma Sprecher's Obituary
Ora Emma Sprecher, age 85, passed quietly from this life into her eternal rest in heaven on 7/12/18 surrounded by her family at her home. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Ora was born in Kansas City, Missouri, November 26, 1932 to Clyde and Sarah Ethel McCall. She grew up in Kansas City and graduated from high school and worked at Kansas City General Hospital. She met her husband Melvin in Cheyenne, Wyoming and married on August 1, 1953, for nearly 65 years.There, they had 3 children before moving to Roswell, New Mexico, in 1962 and then moved to Garland, TX in 1963. Ora worked at Gruendler’s Country Day Care as a teacher coordinator, Sears, in customer service and retired from the City of Garland in the new accounts department in 1993, 22 plus years of service. Ora was a Brownie and Cadet leader in the Girl Scout organization. She had an interest in ceramics, sewing Barbie clothes, children’s clothes and items for their home, collecting Hallmark Christmas ornaments, loved Christmas and enjoyed decorating for other holidays. She enjoyed going to her son and grandson’s baseball games and traveling to their tournaments. She enjoyed playing Bunco, going to Precept Bible studies and helping others. Shortly after the family moved to Garland they joined Monica Park Christian Church. In 1980, Ora and Mel joined First Baptist Church in Dallas. Preceded in death by son, Darin Lee Sprecher in 1996, Garland, TX. Parents, Clyde McCall, James and Sarah Ethel Clifton, Kansas City, Missouri. Ora is survived by husband, Melvin Sprecher, Garland, TX. Daughters, Donna Candler and husband Victor Candler, Garland, TX and Debra Martin and husband Rex, Crowley, TX, Daughter-in-law Mary Sprecher, Rowlett, TX. Granddaughters, Chandra Barnes and husband Darren, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Chelsea Moon and husband Dylan, Rendon, TX. Nicole Martin, Arlington, TX. Grandsons, Trenton West and wife Katie, North Richland Hills, TX, Jared Sprecher, Oak Cliff, TX. Jordan Sprecher, Rowlett, TX, Brandon Harris, Allen, TX, Ryan Martin, Ft Worth, TX. Three great granddaughters, 6 great grandsons, 1 great-great granddaughter and 1 great-great grandson. Pallbearer’s Darin Barnes, Darren Barnes, Brandon Harris, Dylan Moon, Jared Sprecher, Jordan Sprecher, Trenton West. Visitation will be at Restland Memorial Park on July 16, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the service will be on July 17, 2018 at 12:30 pm at Restland Memorial Park at the Wildwood Chapel. There will be a gathering of family and friends after the service at First Baptist Church Garland, 801 W. Ave D, Garland, TX in the parlor. The family wishes to convey a special thanks to National Nursing & Rehab, VNA Hospice, Encompass Home Health & Hospice.
