Orlo "Buddy" Woodcock's Obituary
Orlo “Buddy” Woodcock passed from this earth to receive his eternal reward on Friday, April 9, 2021, peacefully in his home at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his wife Billie Frances Woodcock and their daughter, Alice Marie. He is survived by their children, Mary Jones and family, Jimmy Woodcock and family, and Christie Woodcock and family. He had 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Buddy was born in Dallas, Texas on July 13, 1931 to Henry and Zoe Woodcock. He graduated from Addison High School and shortly after graduation started working at Otis Engineering. After a year of working he was drafted into the Army and spent two years in Korea. He returned to Texas after the war and went back to work at Otis Engineering as a stock room clerk. He retired after 40 years as Plant Manager.
Buddy married Billie Williams on May 8, 1954. They were married 50 years until her passing in 2004. They were members at Webb Chapel church of Christ for many years. In 1990 they moved to Flower Mound and began attending Lewisville church of Christ some time after, where they were both faithful members until their passing.
Buddy will be remembered as a faithful Christian, a devoted family man and a true friend. Buddy was a master mechanic, loved playing dominos and growing his vegetable garden. He was a good cook as long as he could add jalapeños to everything. He loved watching sports and was a loyal Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed working on cars, being outside and most of all being with his family.
Buddy left his family with many memories and will be missed greatly. If anyone is interested in making a donation in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Lewisville Preachers’ Training Camp.
There will be a graveside service at Crown Hill Memorial Park, 9718 Webb Chapel Road in Dallas, on Wednesday, April 14th at 10am.
