Oscar De Luna's Obituary
Oscar De Luna, 82, of Garland, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 7, 2025. Oscar was born May 30,1943, in Granjeno, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16 at 12:00 pm. The funeral service to immediately follow at 1:00 pm at Nueva Vida/New Life Baptist Church, 2626 Gus Thomasson Rd, Dallas, Texas 75228.
Interment will be at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas.
Oscar was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and a loyal friend. He had a warm and welcoming personality – he never met a stranger. Known for his love of sports and telling jokes, Oscar brought joy and laughter to those around him. Family was the cornerstone of his life. Whether it was watching UT football games with his kids, eating steaks with his sons-in-law, or discussing boxing with his grandsons, Oscar cherished every opportunity to spend time with his family. Oscar loved almost all sports, but his love for baseball and Texas football surpassed them all. Oscar was also inducted into the Leo Najo Baseball Hall of Fame in South Texas, a reflection of his lifelong dedication, love, and contribution to the game.
Oscar’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering commitment to his wife and family. He will be remembered with deep affection and enduring respect.
Oscar was preceded in death by parents Ana De Luna and Domingo De Luna, Sr., his youngest brother, Domingo De Luna Jr., and grandparents Antonio and Locaria Anzaldua, and Refugio and Canuta De Luna.
Oscar is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rosalinda De Luna, children: Deborah Salinas (Jesse), Cynthia Krasniqi (Gzim), Sandra Moreno (Rosalio), Ruth De Luna (Dorian), Rebecca De Luna, Oscar De Luna, Jr. (Gladis), Grandchildren: Naomi Elliott (Christopher), Jesse Salinas, Jr. (Chrishelle), Sierra Smith (Shawn), Brittany Aguilar, Roman Salinas (Jordan), Jani Krasniqi, Mireya Moreno, Juan Moreno, Noah Moreno, Phoenix Moreno, Sofia Linarez, Lily De Luna, Xavi De Luna, Uriah De Luna, Great Grandchildren: Cruz Elliott, Costas Elliott, Isabella Salinas, Jett Salinas, Jaxxson
Salinas, Jude Salinas, Kinley Smith, Kutler Smith, River Garcia, Roman Salinas II, Raelynn Salinas, and siblings: Lydia Ramos (Juan), Osvaldo De Luna (Ludivina), and Gloria Mandujano (Carlos).
