Oswald A. "Sonny" Hoffman Jr.'s Obituary
Oswald Arthur Hoffman Jr. passed away on Monday September 26, 2022 at home in Irving, Tx at the age of 89.
Oswald was born on April 18, 1933 to Oswald Arthur and Pauline Hoffman in Columbus, Texas.
Oswald grew up in the Columbus/Weimer area of Texas and joined the United States Army in 1952 and served during the Korean Conflict until November 1955.
Oswald worked for various companies as a warehouse supervisor and retired in 2006 after 29 years with Williamson Printing Corp. in Dallas. He loved the many years in Boy Scouts with son Michael, serving his church in various capacities, seeing family and most of all spending time with his granddaughters.
Oswald is survived by his wife of 61 years, Maxine of Irving, Texas; Son, Michael Hoffman also of Irving, Texas; Daughter, Sherrie Lancaster and husband Steve of Colleyville, Texas; Granddaughter; Victoria Schrader and husband Joshua of Keller; Granddaughter, Lauren Lancaster of Colleyville, Texas; Great Grandson Steven Joshua Schrader (SJ); Sisters; Ann Balkum and Joyce Ovesney and Brother, Billy James Hoffman; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Dorothy Seals, Shirley Sturm and Alberta Suggs.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm., Monday, October 3, 2022 at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery on Greenville Ave., in Dallas, Texas.
A visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. just prior to the Graveside Service at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery in Dallas, Texas
