Otis Donell Cobb's Obituary
COBB, OTIS DONELL was called home to heaven on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 with his loving family by his side. Otis and his wife of 34 years, Alecia, have been in Dallas since 1978 where they raised their beautiful daughter, Crystal. Otis is fondly remembered as a devoted husband and loving father. He was born in Tyler, TX on November 24, 1948 to Catherine and Elmer Cobb who both recently passed away. He was an outstanding teacher and coach at Franklin Middle School and Hillcrest High School for over 20 years. Otis received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from East Texas State in Commerce before being well known in the Art Community in Dallas. He was an avid basketball player, enjoyed working in the yard, and anything involving home improvement with his own hands. Otis is also survived by his brother, Mack Cobb and wife, Gloria of Tyler, TX; mother-in-law, Hazel Beck; sisters-in-law, Cylean Dupre, and Terrisa Jarmon and husband, Mikel; brother-in-law, Vendon Beck; 2 nieces, 6 nephews, numerous cousins and friends. The Celebration of Otis’ Life and Art will be Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Marriott Quorum, 14901 Dallas Parkway, Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hillcrest High School PTSA Art Scholarship Fund in Otis’ name.
