Otis Glen Holmes' Obituary
Otis Glen Holmes “Pops” born February 11, 1931 in Maypearl, Tx to his parents, Dora and Carl Thomas Holmes. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Peggie; son, Marshall Wayne of Dallas; daughter, Glynda Kay Brown and husband, Lee of Royse City. Glen was “Pops” to 3 beloved grandchildren, Callie Lee and Kay Lynn Brown of Royse City, and Charles (Charlie) Glen Holmes of Rockwall; soon to be great grandaughter, Kodi Lee; sisters, Nadine Dickenson of Ft. Worth and Patricia Ann Velasquez of Flower Mound; brother, James Holmes and wife, Virginia of Ft. Worth; sister-in-law, Sue Baumgartner of Kyle, TX; 8 nieces and 7 nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl Jr., William Garland, and Mickey Holmes; and sister, Linda Sue Robbins. Glen joined the U. S Navy at the age of 17 and was a Korean War Veteran. A life member of VFW Post 6796. He was a 60 year Teamster member of Local 745, Dallas, retiring in 1988 after 36 years in the trucking industry. Glen loved his family, Teamsters and the VFW in that order. He leaves a multitude of family and friends. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to Teamsters Local 745 Retirees Scholarship Fund, 1007 Jonelle St. Dallas, 75243.
