Ottie Lee Sams' Obituary
Sams, Ottie passed away on Nov. 10, 2012 in Irving, Texas at the age of 88. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alena and Edgar Sams; brothers, JB, RE and Edgar Jr.; sister, Christine Rogers; and son, Stephen Lee Ferguson. Ottie is survived by his four daughters, Sandra Louise Mahan and Norma Lynn Adkins, both from Texas, and Donna and Bonnie Stafford from Tennessee. He is also survived by four nephews, Jerry Sams, David Sams, Billy Rogers, Clif Cameron; niece, Sherry Bender; cousin, Edwin Leavenworth and their respective families; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren. Ottie Lee served in the United States Navy during WW II from 1942 to 1946. He was honorably discharged from the Navy on Dec. 10, 1946. His service to his country was of great importance and a constant sense of pride. His many surviving family members will miss him. Graveside service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 in Restland Memorial Park.
