Ouida Evelyn Rippy's Obituary
Ouida Evelyn (Breedlove) Rippy, 96, passed away peacefully in Richardson, Texas on June 13, 2022 joining her beloved husband of 70 years, Robert Cecil Rippy, who passed away in 2012. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert William Rippy, and grandson, Robert William Rippy Jr. She leaves her son, Terry Rippy, 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.
Ouida was the youngest of 3 children. She was born on November 18, 1925 in Addison, Texas to Thomas and Annabelle (Needham) Breedlove. She was a lifelong resident of Richardson, Texas. Ouida met her husband, Cecil, through her best friend, Betty, who was Cecil’s sister, and they were married in 1942. She was a stay-at-home mother while Cecil was in the Army Air Force during WWII. After his return, she managed clothing retail stores until her mother fell ill. She then stayed home to care for her until her death in 1991. Ouida’s faith and family were paramount to her and Cecil. She was strong, faithful, caring, kind; a true Christian who loved and accepted everyone. Her caring nature, accepting heart, love, and kindness serve as an inspiration to all of us who were blessed to have known her. A private family graveside service will be held June 29, 2022 at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. A celebration of life service will follow at The First United Methodist Church of Richardson, Texas at 12 pm.
