Our families grew up together - we spent alot of time over the yrs at each others homes when we were younger!!! Im so very sorry to hear about Steve. He was always so friendly& easy to be around at BL!! He had even sent me a few christmas cards in the last few years which was so utterly wonderful of him!!! I hope he rests easy now🙏

I want to share my sorrow for you and Steve;s family. I have such fond memories of all of our years swimming together and traveling to such far off places as Waco, Ft. Worth, San Antonio and beyond. Steve was always a bright spot at the swim meets and such a kind soul. I am sorry that I lost touch with him over the years but wanted to let you know I continue to learn from the lessons he taught all of us on kindness and belonging.

Steve was a guy who was a friend to everyone. Whether the event was a wedding, funeral or a picnic, Steve would seek you out and make you feel as if you were the most important person in the room. He had a compassion and an empathy for all people whether he knew them all of his life or for a short time.
He was a great friend to John for many years and I heard in John's voice the respect and admiration for you both as John spoke of your marriage, Steve's hurdles and the adoration that Steve had for you.
We all would have liked Steve to have been with us for longer but what an impression he made on everyone he knew in 65 years. We will miss him dearly.

Stevie was our long time loyal and good friend, and dearly loved. Fun times at UT Austin, house mates after college, and he introduced you to all of us..!! What memories; Cotton Bowls, Texas-OU games, your wedding, Big Chills at the Gulf coast and at Lake Travis,
decades of guys weekends and Texas games in Austin (thanks for sharing Steve with the guys all those years!!!)., landmark birthdays, celebrations of life and enduring loss, dinners, parties, such a long list of joy and affection. Steve became a sincere and endearing part of each of us. We will will surely miss him, but we will not ever truly lose him. We love you so much, and please know that we are here for you now and always.
