Pacifico Bacalzo's Obituary
Pacifico Bacalzo passed away peacefully at his home in Frisco, Texas, February 24th. He was 92. Pacifico was born in Chicago, the oldest of 5 children, two brothers, Conrad and Felino; two sisters, Golondrina (Nina) and Elvira; parents Alfonso and Maxima Bacalzo. He attended McKinley High School on the west side of Chicago. Graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois receiving a Degree in Architecture. He married Agnes de la Cruz- DeBiase, also of Chicago, a professional dancer in 1954. They were married for 63 years and had three loving children, David Bacalzo, husband Tom Donahue, Laura Rolandelli, husband Richard Rolandelli, Linda Atlason, husband Chris Atlason, and four granddaughters: Dr. Christina Rolandelli, Juliana Rolandelli Acosta, Electrical Engineer, Sabrina Rolandelli Pre-Med graduating Senior at Texas A&M, Julie Atlason, graduating High School Senior with a College Soccer Scholarship. He was so very proud of his granddaughters. After receiving his Architectural License, he and Agnes decided to move to get away from the harsh winters in Chicago. Hawaii was the first choice, but the cost of living was too high and too many established architects. Puerto Rico was the 2nd choice and so much like Hawaii. He soon established an office and became very busy. They had a beautiful home which would become a gathering place for the Filipino Community. It was a dream come true with work and yet enjoyed the weekends with family and friends. While in Puerto Rico he was asked to be the Philippine Consulate to entertain many Governors, Diplomats and celebrities at his home. He was also an avid tennis player, race car driver, piano player, art collector, artist and jokester. Returned to the mainland after 12 years because of the great recession. Established an office in Dallas in 1976, travelled the world with Agnes and retired in 2010 and moved to Frisco, Texas living comfortably in a patio home to be closer to his 3 children also residing in Frisco. Agnes passed away in 2018. He is so happy to be reunited with the love of his life!!! He will be missed by all that knew him. Don't be sad for him, we all have to go sometime, he had the best life and a very happy life...not a day went by that he didn't make someone laugh or smile!!! He LOVED God and was always kind. Your job on earth is done....RIP
As you drive into the sunset to get Mom for your next adventure!!!
